Operating Room management is complex, requiring the coordination of many different players—surgeons, nurses, anesthesiologists, and support staff—to provide a high level of care for the patient.

OR managers and directors face many challenges: meeting surgeon goals for patient volumes, scheduling of elective and non-elective cases, room turnover delays, poor surgeon-anesthesia-nursing collaboration, and inconsistent patient and family satisfaction.
