The
Value Stream is all process steps—value added or not—required to deliver
care to a patient. perspective to healthcare. We believe that
the patient is the ultimate customer in any healthcare organization, and
that all steps in the value stream should focus relentlessly on the patient.
In our work, we’ve found that the very issues that lead to patient
dissatisfaction also lead to physician and staff dissatisfaction.
When resources align around the common goal of improving the patient experience,
the result is a win-win for patients and staff alike.
FlowOne begins each engagement by helping physicians, nurses and staff to
see their processes through the Value Stream perspective. Using the training
in Lean concepts that we provide, as well as our experience in healthcare,
FlowOne helps the team identify the sources of waste and frustration in
their process and develop a future state vision. That vision—the Value
Stream map—guides the change process.
